Makeup Powders - Pressed Powders E.L.F.
50% would buy this product again - Overall Average Rating 3
Review on: E.L.F. - Clarifying Pressed Powder
Used with ELF's Tone corrector concealer, and Sheilding Hyrdo-Tint SPF 15, you may notice that areas where you applied the liquid foundation will appear to be quite darker when you apply the pressed powder. I was not that quite happy about the outcome of this product. It only gives you basic light coverage, but not enough to blend in, and tone your skin. My face also looked orange compared to the other areas of my skn that did not have the powder on it. Also, I noticed that in the formula, there are small little white specks of powder. I didnt like this powder at all, and it clearly did nothing for me.

Pros: Nice Matte Finish.
Cons: Not enough skin color choices, and cheap powder formula.
Review on: E.L.F. - Clarifying Pressed Powder in Tone 2
Tone 2 isn't quite right for my skin... perhaps i was a little mislead-- because tone 2 worked for me in the Shielding Hydro Tint. The color seems darker that it did on the webiste (more orangey)-- maybe I'd like it better if I got a lighter shade but who knows. It's really light coverage and oil absorbing so I enjoy that. For me this applies better and more sheer with a powder brush, making the color still somewhat workable.

I rated the packaging kind of low because there's no mirror in the compact. I usually rely on whatever powder i take in my purse to have a mirror so I can apply other things. Now you're probably saying, but it was only a buck what do you expect?! Well...ELF also sells a compact that holds four shadows, glosses or whatever you want-- and that happens to be very high quality AND has a mirror. Why couldn't they put a mirror in the compact? It also can barely close with the puff inside the compact. I mean it closes, but seems like the hinge might snap after awhile. Oh well! no major loss here, just a dollar! Like i said, I'll probably continue to use it with a fluffy brush to diffuse the product.

Pros: oil absorbing, lightweight, not cakey
Cons: tone 2 is too orange, no mirror, compact barely fits the puff
Review on: E.L.F. - Clarifying Pressed Powder in Tone 2
E.L.F. Clarifying Pressed Powder in Tone 2:                                                             Another lovely cheap E.L.F. item I’ve given to my children as a stocking stuffer. The pressed powder is perfect for children wanting to use or play with a pressed powder.  My 10 year old will try it and it looks like she’s got powder on (her skin is normal, almost a tad dry).  My 13 year old, this wears a tiny bit better on, but she doesn’t need a powder or foundation either yet.  I have tried it also, just to see, and it does control oil….but the shade selection is poor.  Package quality is cheap also...but it's only a buck!

My skin:  NW25/sensitive/hyper-oily/acne prone w/ pink undertones

Pros: controls oil, cheap
Cons: shade selection is poor
Review on: E.L.F. - Clarifying Pressed Powder in Tone 2
Behold, the only E.L.F. product I'd buy again.  It has the same Sugar Orange scent as everything else, but it doesn't seem as strong.  It absorbs excess oils well, and provides nice coverage with decent lasting power.  There aren't a lot of colors offered, which can make it a pain to possibly find the right color.  This is more of something to keep on hand for a day you need quick coverage for an unexpected visitor or just to go to the grocery store.  Definitely something I'd let my daughters use when they first got into makeup.

Pros: Good coverage with decent lasting power, absorbs oils well
Cons: No SPF; lack of color choices
