This is one of the most versatile beauty products around. It can be used on the cheeks for a healthy glow, used on top of lipsticks for a little extra shimmer, or used on brow bone to create a lifted appearance. You get a TON for the money.
I do love this High Beam by Benefit. I bought it to add some shimmer to my cheekbones and found that it could do much more. It not only acted as a delicate shimmer. but also added more of a pout to the top lip. Made lips look much fuller. One more point of interest: I have a small bump on the bridge of my nose-by appllying High Beam on the bum my nose appeared straighter--don't ask me how--doing it every day now!!!! Great product.
Pros:Color great, multi uses for product. Cons:Can only be bought at Sephora or from Benefit directly. Inconvenient.
Recently in a "wholesale lot" of cosmetics ordered from eBay, I discovered a "Jewel". Taking it out of the box, I thought it might be nailpolish. However, this little miracle bottle-complete with brush for liquid application was a blush! I have never used liquid blush, so I thought this might be quite the challenge. After applying my photofinish, and foundation, I took the tiny brush and applied it just where I wanted my blush to be. It went on like a creamy souffle'. I usually tan or use self tanner in the summer so I look rather pale and bland in the winter--this was just the pick-up my skin needed. In Pale coral, it was an sheer color application that dried to a soft powdery finish. The neutral color had a golden shimmer and the color application was very subtle--not harsh at all. I do not know if this blush is still available--if so I recommend it highly. It gives the face a soft, ethereal finish. I love it!!!
Pros:Beautiful subtle color and easy application. Any skin tone could use it. Cons:It is a little expensive--but for the amount you would use--it's a good price. No cons.
Benefit highlighters, blushes and bronzers have the cutest packaging and this one just screams SPRING to me. The color is a soft, matte light pink and gives my cheeks a flushed look when used as a blush. I normally use the brush that comes with it that is perfect for lughtly sweeping it on as a highlighter, yet if I want more I use a blush brush to pick up more color. The color is cute, the packaging is cute (light green box with a dandelion on top) and it looks fantastic on!
I have turned into a highlighter fanatic and HighBeam hs become one of my favorites. I love how easily it applies and blends; the nail polish type brush is perfect to use to apply the product to my face and then I use a concealer brush (on brow bone) or foundation brush (on cheeks) to lightly blend it in. It gives my face a great glow and really makes my eyes POP! I definetly recommend this product, I got it as a GWP, but I will gladly spend the $22 when I am out!
Pros:Great highlighter, looks so good Cons:Expensive
I went into Macys and gave my lil' 12 yr old sister a random makeup at the Benefit counter. She has a dark complexion - so gold colors work great with her skin tone.
I saw this and tried it on a whim and wow! Used it lightly on the lids and on the brow bone. Looked amazing for a natural glow and it popped.
Now on me, haha - its a lot like Benefit's High Brow but in a golden, shimmery type of way.
Highly suggested now that its summer when most (should) less makeup due to heat. Add this to your lids for some shimmer/color if on a rush. To your brow bone for a bit of definition.
It can work as an eyeliner as well. Most deff a staple in my MU collection!
I use this everyday and it really brightens up my face. I am naturally very pale and have to be careful with blushers, brighteners etc. otherwise I end up looking like a kid playing with her mum's makeup! I use this all over my face after foundation to lift my colour and generally make me look more awake. I think if I wasn't so pale this wouldn't do very much at all, though it looks quite a bright pink in the box it goes on very sheer, so probably wouldn't show up on a darker skin tone.
It seems expensive at first (about £22) but I've had mine for about 4 months now and it doesn't look like any has gone! The box is cardboard so wouldn't be suitable for carying around in your bag, but it does look very pretty in the bathroom.
This product is great. It gives a subtle shimmer that is suitable for all skin tones. It lasts a loong time, if you compare it to the high/moon beam it is a whole lot larger and a much better price when you consider the amount of product you get. Although it has a smell to it, it is actually rather pleasant. When applying over make up pat on skin rather than wiping it on. Also using a foundation brush works well. I find that a little goes a long way and it's particularly good for using on cheekbones, browbones and on the bridge of your nose. Sometimes i apply on the upper part of my lip which is supposed to make them look fuller. I would definately recommend if you are looking for a good highligher!
Pros: Cons:None really. I'd prefer it if the bottle wasn't glass but more a squeezy tube or something cause sometimes it can be difficult to get out.
I really love this. It is a staple that I cannot do without. It gives me the most beautiful shimmer, soft and sexy. I use it on my forehead, cheekbones, nose, sometimes on my lips! It is unreal how pretty this looks, and it lasts all day!
I was in search for a great every-day highlighter to apply to my cheeks, down my nose and on my forehead for that fresh, alive, glowing look. I found this product to be perfect for my needs! It is a no-brainer since it is the best of the Benefit highlighers and you get WAY more product for only 2 dollars more! The Moon Beam and High Beam only have 13ml while Hollywood Glo has 30 ml of product (so you get double the highlighter). Will definitely buy in the future. ;)
Pros:Great product, not too much glitter and easy to apply. Cons:None really, you get what you pay for. For a high-end product it is a great deal. ;)
wonderful color! beauty in a bottle! this adds so much definition to my face, my age is 31.easy to paton/ blends easily. i love this products, seriously looks rich, like a movie star! a little goes a long way so price isnt so bad.
Pros:does what its supposed to do Cons:a little pricey
Review: I love this pencil. It is the perfect inner corner highlighter when you are using warm colors for a FOTD. It espeacially looks fantastic with green or bronzey eye make up.
For highlighting the inner corner, I just draw along the inner v with the pencil and then tap my finger against it to soften the line.
For highlighting under the brow, dot the product under your eyebrow (more heavily directly under the arch) and blend into skin with your finger.
Also great when your doing a green or bronzey look because you can use this to apply a pretty golden color on the lower lid area with great precision.
Me: NC43, GGG, Green Eyes, Jet Black Straight Hair, Combination/Sensitive Skin
Pros:Beautiful color and very versatile. Travels well and does not melt. Cons:
i won this in a benefit giveaway. i've never heard about this before, but its won an award from allure as best highlighter, so of course i couldn't complain.
i gave it a try yesterday, specifically using it to make my eyes look less "hollow". i had used a few other highlighters for this purpose, but it actually brought a lot more attention to the area, even when applied sparingly, and i was sort of expecting this to do the same thing, but it didn't!
because the hollows of my eyes are darker and sunken in (obviously), i thought this golden shade would look too much, but it actually just "lifted" the area and basically matched my skintone somehow and you couldn't even tell i had it on, except a little sheen since it IS a highlighter.
where i applied it, the lighting was too good and i didn't see it in natural light, but i did check in 2 different places that usually give me different results and it looked great.
i think this is definitely the best highlighter i've found so far for the hollow eyes purpose. i also love the fact it's in pencil form, which i've always been a little afraid of, because it gives me more control over the application. i dot it on and then blend/tap lighting with my finger and it's all done.
if i use this up, i'll definitely buy it! i'm glad i won it or else i would've never considered trying this.
Pros:shade, widely available, packaging, a little goes a long way Cons:price
I got this as a sample and thought it was gorgeous. I've never gotten around to buying it because I'm still using up my Bloom highligher plus you can't buy Benefit in New Zealand and it proves costly to buy from the States with our dollar exchange.
This is a frosty, very light pink facial highlighter which is very versatile. You can use to slim the nose, highlight the eye area or for bringing out cheek bones. Looks like nail polish and the brush is reminiscent of a nail polish one too, you might get confused! A nice, very subtle shimmer is added to skin, but is kind of hard to use with my powder based mineral makeup from Bare Escentuals.
Pros:Adds nice, subtle shimmer to face and eye area. Cons:May be too light for darker skin shades.
Of all the Benefit highlighters this is my favorite. I like to use as a subtle eyeshadow which looks really pretty. Also adds nice radiance to my face as a light bronzer in summer. I don't know about the Hollywood thing, but the bottle is so cute, like all the Benefit products. I think their success is mostly in the cuteness of their packaging.
Pros:Makes a nice eyeshadow/eye area highlighter for light skins. Cons:Is too subtle for darker skins.
I like this pretty, light apricot facial highlighter. It is pretty subtle, so it's probably better for lighter skin shades or it may not show up. I put around my eyes, on my cheek bones and sometimes even on my lips. Adds a nice but barely perceptible shimmer. I love Benefit and this is one of my fave products from that line.
Pros:Adds nice, subtle shimmer, very subtle. Cons:For more oomph, you might want to try less subtle products, this one is LIGHT.
